This listing is for the depicted loose gemstone that I personally precision cut on my lapidary equipment

 2.32 carats
9mm in length, 6.7mm in width and 5.4mm in depth
• Cut in my own fantasy kite design
• Untreated
• Naturally occurring
• Corundum (sapphire)

• Detailed Gem Description:
A natural and untreated corundum (sapphire) that has a dominant purple hue, a light tone, and slightly grayish saturation. This gem has a slight color shift:  In daylight with off-center viewing the sapphire turns from purple to greenish blue. You can observe the color shift by looking directly at the sapphire and then one inch off to the side. The photo and video cameras were not able to capture this feature. Inclusions are barely visible without magnification, at first glance, it is eye clean.  A microscopy report with multiple photographs of this specific gem under magnification is included for reference. This is an open-tone gem, it will glow and sparkle in any light! This is an exceptionally clean sapphire for material from this locality. It faces up clean and has all of the microscopic geologic indicators of untreated sapphire from the Umba Valley.

Microscopy Report: This gem features a few inclusions that are typical of corundum from the Umba Valley in Tanzania.  Most notable are the crisp fine rutile needles, what I believe to be a mica platelet, and some negative crystals resembling sugar, it also has a few very small fully formed rutile needles that span part of the gem. The crisp nature of the rutile inclusions is an indicator that this sapphire has not undergone any treatment to improve its color or clarity.  I used the Photoatlas of Inclusions volume 1 by EJ Gübelin and JI Koivula for reference.

Photos and videos were taken outdoors under a partly cloudy sky with the sun peeking through the clouds near the horizon, additional videos were taken indoors under my overhead led lights.

Gemstone Rough Country of Origin: Umba Valley, Tanzania
Cutter: Sennin
